Abstract

A virtual machine live-migration improvement based on hybrid-migration was presented to improve the efficiency of the backup for virtual machines (including the running-state, storage and configuration-information), stability of the running virtual machines and the balance for physics machines. Shared storage migration and storage block migration were blended to balance the speed for live-migration of virtual machines in the validity of backup. The practical result showed that the proposed virtual machine live-migration improvement solution can effectively improve the efficiency of the backup for virtual machines, reduce the time of live-migration and improve the fault-tolerant ability.
