The influence of the protection ability of intellectual property on large scientific project technology innovation: A contingent model

Abstract

Based on the survey of large scientific project team, this study explored the effect of the protection ability of intellectual property on large scientific project technology innovation, and examined the moderating role of leader social capital and technological integration competence. The results of the data analysis reveal that protection ability of intellectual property has positively affected on large scientific project technology innovation; both leader social capital and technological integration competence moderate the link between protection ability of intellectual property and large scientific project technology innovation, such that, compared with low leader social capital, protection ability of intellectual property has more positively affected on large scientific project technology innovation within high leader social capital. Compared with low technological integration competence, protection ability of intellectual property has more positively affected on large scientific project technology innovation within high technological integration competence. These results are useful for deeply understand the role of the protection ability of intellectual property in promoting large scientific project technology innovation, and provide management measurements for improving large scientific project technology innovation.
